These terms govern your access to and use of DocuScan. Please read them carefully.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the DocuScan website and application (together, the "Service"), operated by DocuScan ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
By creating an account, downloading the app, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you can form a binding contract with DocuScan and that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
DocuScan provides tools to capture, enhance, and convert documents into digital files, including optical character recognition ("OCR") and PDF export. Features, availability, and pricing may change over time, and we may add, modify, or remove functionality at our discretion.
Some features require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@docuscan.app if you suspect unauthorized use.
You agree not to:
You retain all ownership rights to the documents, images, and files you scan or upload ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant DocuScan a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely as necessary to provide the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of Your Content and do not use it to train third-party models without your consent.
The Service, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and underlying software, is owned by DocuScan or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted in these Terms, no other rights are granted to you.
Certain features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled beforehand. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or harmful activity, or if required by law. Upon termination, provisions that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that OCR results will be error-free or that the Service will be uninterrupted or secure.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocuScan shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer protection laws provide otherwise. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and provide reasonable notice, such as an in-app message or email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@docuscan.app or via our Contact page.
